Bring your prescription

Bring us your prescription, from anywhere

If your prescription is from another office or a hospital, the optician reviews it and helps you choose your glasses. And the one we give you is yours too: take it wherever you like.

What to bring

  • Your prescription, on paper or in a photo

  • Your current glasses, so we can take measurements

  • Your vision plan or medical insurance card

A pair of thin dark glasses rests on an open book

How it works

Four steps, and you can do them in one visit to the optical.

  1. 01

Step 1: Bring us your prescription

On paper or in a photo on your phone.

  2. 02

Step 2: The optician reviews it

If anything is unclear, we call whoever gave it. We don't change your prescription.

  3. 03

    Step 3: Choose your glasses

Frames and lenses, with measurements made for your face.

  4. 04

    Step 4: Pick-up and fitting

We adjust the glasses and show you how to care for them.

Which prescription works

The doctor or optician tells you whether yours works or a new exam makes sense.

  • Glasses prescription

From any office, as long as it is current.

  • Contact lens prescription

We confirm it first with whoever gave it.

  • An old prescription

If it has expired, the doctor explains whether a new exam is needed.

Your prescription is yours

After your exam and fitting we give you a copy. You can fill it here or somewhere else, and you never have to buy anything from us to get it.

Questions about your prescription

Can I take my prescription to another place?

Yes. It's yours. We give you a copy after your exam and fitting.

Do you charge me for my prescription?

No. The prescription is part of your exam, and you don't have to buy glasses from us to receive it.

Do you accept a prescription from another state?

Generally yes. The optician reviews it with you.
